Games have been around for millennia, with some, such as a version of chess, going back to ancient Egypt. We still enjoy the mental challenge of solving problems and besting others in the safe, friendly arena of competition that games provide. This month the Ledges at Johnston Blog is featuring the Marian J. Mohr Memorial Library in Johnston, RI. This wonderful institution has been serving the people of Johnston since 1961. Marian J. Mohr wanted to help the community learn, grow, and thrive; we think she succeeded! In 2011, the library moved to a new building as it had outgrown its original home. The library’s collection now contains over 50,000 different materials, and the programs the library puts on each month draw people from all over the community. All of this would not have been possible without Mohr’s dedication and drive.
Last month the Ledges at Johnston Blog gave you an overview of the Mohr Public Library. This month we’ve got five books for you to read this summer. Take advantage of the chillier weather in Johnston, RI by cuddling up with a good book and a warm blanket this September.
